4First impression, Cool-Air Adventure Pants
By moto,veloce1
I received my Bohn Cool-Air Adventure Pants a couple of days ago. My first impression wasn't altogether favorable. The fabric looked a little flimsy to me and I though it would probably snag or tear easily. However, the armor/padding looked to be well designed and manufactured to a high standard.

Today I put the pants on under my favorite jeans and took my Triumph out to some local canyons with sharp, narrow curves. I returned on secondary roads that feature some high speed, sweeping turns as well. I found these pants to be very comfortable, even with the optional thigh pads installed. They fit really well and give every impression that they would protect you in case of an unexpected dismount.

After wearing them for about 150 miles I'm very pleased with my purchase. I definitely feel safer than I would with nothing but jeans to protect my lower extremities. On closer inspection the fabric feels like it will be durable enough if you exercise reasonabl e care with it.

This product earns an enthusiastic recommendation based on my first experience with it. I'm really looking forward to conducting more product testing in the very near future. Now stop surfing the net and go ride your bike!

4Good protection at a cost
By RayB
I like the pants because they are comfortable to wear and they seem like they'll offer impact protection if I ever need it. Paired with my kevlar-lined jeans or cargo pants, I feel just as secure as I do riding with my heavier, bulkier all-in-one riding pants. I only gave it 4 stars because I think they are a bit over-priced.

3Great armor. Poor design for use by men.
By Yurij Trytjak
Riding my 2003 Harley-Davidson Sportster with theses armor pants (knees, outside thighs, coccix) provides protection that has saved several scrapes for me. I also use the matching armor shirt (shoulders, elbows, back plate) in the summer with just a denim shirt over it. In the winter there is no need for the armor shirt because the winter leathers are armored. But these pants are with me whenever I ride. Both the top and bottom are comfy in cool and cold weather, but in the heat and high humidities of July and August (here in NJ) the nylon mesh does not breathe. The shirt needs to be hand rinsed in a tub of soapy water after almost every ride.
Now about these pants! They have a glaring design fault if they are to be worn by men. At first I needed to take my denim pants and these armored pants down to my thighs or knees just to pull over for a quick pee on the road. That's not practical at all! Finally, I cut a slit in the front, and had to reinforce it top and bottom with duct tape (looks really ugly) to prevent further tearing, so that I could reach my junk without half disrobing. That's why only 3 stars.
I hope Bohn re-designs these pants for functionality by men, and offers me a trade-in.
Pro's: good price for good protection
Cons: non-breathable and not designed for men.
