5Great Jacket
By M. Glucksman
Good quality jacket. Just received it, so no riding experience. Have a Firstgear mesh jacket, so I'm partial to Firstgear items.

Webbikeworld has a good review of this jacket. The quality of the materials and construction are top notch. Compares favorably to the Harley Davidson FXRG jackets. I had high expectations, and they were met. Only issue I see, is that I haven't figured out how to get the vents under the arms to stay open - there's something there to do it, but I haven't figured it out.

The armor in the jacket is very thin. I think that the orange side should be towards the outside. All 4 pads had the orange to the inside. These pads are easy to flip and have pretty good velcro adjustment in terms of positioning.

Sizing wise, I'm a 44 and went with the large size, not one size up as suggested. It is snug with the liner installed, but not too snug. I think it's perfect. I've got a gut, and the jacket isn't anything like wearing a too small t-shirt - it really is perfect. It's fairly relaxed, fit wise, without the liner. 5-10 185 pounds.

The arm adjustments seem great to me. I'm not muscular, so I needed to tighten up the straps to keep the armor snug to my arms. I'm no toothpick either.

I'm kind of a cheap skate, so there's no way I'd spend $400+ for a jacket. But, this jacket seems like a very good deal at under $200. $150 made me (almost) feel guilty.

The blue is kind of greyish in tone, so it's not much of an attention grabber, in my opinion. The zippers are better than what I'm used to. They zip easily and all have some form of water protection. Even the zipper holding in the liner is substantial and easy operating.

Yes, I really like this jacket.
