5Comfortable, Durable and just plain nice
By Dave McGhee
If you like to start you day early and ride all day, these are the ideal pants. They have wonderful ventilation for those hot days and protect from wind on the cooler morning rides. They are not waterproof and when riding in the rain for extended periods of time you will get wet, but they protect fairly well in light intermittent drizzles that we get here in Colorado. These pants have less padding in the hips and rear than my other pants, and I have not tried them out in a fall and don't intend to.

They seem to be constructed fairly nicely, durable and the quality is on par with other Klim products as they really do put out some nice stuff.

Pros - They fit nice and have good articulation. Venting is great with the long zips that allow air to flow over the thighs. The look is excellent. Protection is good but can be better with additional padding.. Wish there was a front pocket like a pair of jeans, however there are nice cargo pockets for stu ff like wallet and gloves when off the bike. Fit is good, but runs big so you can layer clothing, do not buy a size larger as they will be too big and the side adjustments will be too short...

Cons - Price... Klim is a bit expensive and they could stand to lower these pants to around $100 but recently raised the price on them by $20 for the 2010 and newer models. The side adjustments need more adjustment room to cinch down the waist, not a big deal if you order the right size as they do run big. Lack of a slash pocket in front, I just like jean pockets and miss those. Could use some more padding in the hips, tailbone and knees, but this isn't a big problem. They are not waterproof, a few design changes would make this a reality, however I think Klim did this to make a different model and charged way too much...

Overall - I ride a duel sport 650 motorcycle and love these pants for everyday riding. They offer great protection, are comfortable every time I put them on, are well made and constructed of nice materials that will protect you in a fall. They are nice enough to walk in to a nice restaurant and have a sit down meal. They are easy to layer under (haven't had the need to layer over with wet gear yet).

I'd recommend these to my friends. I like them and have not done a ride yet without them since getting them. they are just plain comfortable.

5Get What You Pay For
By dudeman
Bought these riding pants because they offer them in a "tall" version for those of us who have a longer than normal inseam. At first I thought the zippered vents on the thighs were somewhat of a gimmick, but after a few rides in warm weather I'm sold on this feature - really helps to keep you cool. I have a size 32" and the waist seems to run a little on the large size, but it can be adjusted plus/minus a few inches in either direction. The knee area is roomy enough for my bulky Thor knee guards, and the over-the-boot design makes it much easier to get dressed/undressed versus a conventional in-the-boot pant. I found them to be very comfortable when riding, and you can stop and adjust your knee guards/braces if needed by undoing the velcro cuffs around the bottom of the pant legs, instead of having to "drop trow". The quality of construction is top notch, and Klim does warranty their garments which is nice to know. My only complaint is that Klim only offers the "tal l" version of their pants in one color - dark grey. In a perfect world it would be nice to have some other choices, cause you know, all us tall guys really don't look the same. But to be fair, it is nice that Klim addresses fitment for tall guys in the first place, so I won't complain too loudly. Overall, very happy with this product.
