Icon Alliance Speedmetal Helmet Evolved refined. Icon has never been satisfied with the status quo - which is why they created the new Icon Alliance helmet. Based on the proven Alliance SSR, this nexgen helmet is fitted with a multitude of key refinements. The first revision is the new EPS liner. They listened to the customers requests and reshaped the EPS liner into a more oval geometry. This new headform increases rider comfort by slightly elongating the entire inner circumference. Combine this geometry with our removable Hydra-Dry wicking comfort liner and the result is a nearly perfect rider focused enclosure. To further increase rider comfort they revised the entire venting system. Much like a finely tuned motor, they reshaped and enlarged the intake and exhaust ports for increased airflow. Additional ventilation ports have also been added to the lateral aspect of the helmet to further increase ventilation. The shield itself has been upgraded to Icons distortion free Pro-Shield. Continuing with their commitment to excellence, the Alliance is constructed with premier manufacturing processes and stringent quality assurance procedures. GREAT Helmet!

Needed a new helmet as my old one was pretty worn out and starting to be a little bit of a danger. The fit is nice and snug, and the addition of the various vents makes air crossflow actually FELT inside the helmet, instead of just being talked about on the package. I also have gauges in my ears, and the helmet slides just fine over them without snagging (important to me, maybe not you though).

Also really like the design on it, as well as the (relative) simplicity there is to changing out visors. I did spring for a mirrored chrome/silver visor, and it took all of about 5 minutes to change them out. On top of that, once the new one was on, I wasn't worried about it coming off in the least, as it goes right back together every bit as snug as it comes from the factory.

All in all a great purchase, and makes riding that much more enjoyable.

Nice helmet

It's a nice helmet. Just got it today for xmas and it looks real sharp but the XXL is a little small compared to my HJC XXL. Will have to try a 3XL.

UPDATE 4/11/13 : I had a motorcycle accident 6 months ago wearing this helmet going somewhere between 15-25 mph and this helmet kept my noggin' from getting busted open. I tumbled quite a few times and broke my collar bone. My leather vest did not save my elbows but my riding pants (Olympia Airglide) did save me some road rash on my knees. Still got a little but not as much as my elbows. So if you're wondering how well this helmet works in a crash test, it worked for me at a slower speed. Just got a little scratched up on the pavement. Visor was still attached as well.
